Maritime Insurance

Coverage:
Terminal Port of Loading up to Terminal Port of Destination

Basic insurance - vehicles 8 years or older

* Covers total loss, theft -and non delivery of the entire vehicle / container.

* Theft of loaded goods are not insured.

* Also physical damages and or losses in case of shipwreck, fire, stranding & ship collissions.

* General average; costs that carriers can recover from the cargo owners are also covered.

The law of general average is a principle of maritime law whereby all stakeholders in a sea venture proportionally share any losses resulting from a voluntary sacrifice of part of the ship or cargo to save the whole in an emergency. 

The vehicles are insured as per full conditions of the Cargo Insurance policy of Antwerp excluding the all risk coverage of article 8.

Article 6 - free of particular average is applicable in the basic insurance coverage.

    for Radioactive Goods” of 27.05.2004 of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters.

“Exclusion of Cyber Attack” of 19.05.2020 of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters.
“Sanction Clause” dated 31.03.2011 of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters
“Abandonment and Piracy Clause” dated 29.11.2012 of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters
- “Clause Geograpical scope“ dated 30.06.2020 of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters
“Clause exclusion infectious disease” dated 22.10.2020 of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters

“Classification Clause” dated 28.06.2001 of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters

“Replacement Clause” dated 27.05.2004 of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters

 

It is expressly agreed that War risks on marine and air shipments and Strikes, Riots and Civil Commotions risks from

beginning to end of the risks are covered by this insurance as per following clauses of the Belgian Association of Marine Underwriters :
“Strikes and riots risks” of 27.05.2004
“War risks for the carriage of cargo over sea” of 27.05.2004
“War risks for the carriage of cargo by air” of 27.05.2004
“War risks for the carriage of cargo by post” of 27.05.2004

Subject to any particular policy changes and/or alterations.

All risk insurance - vehicles younger than 8 years

* Vehicles are insured against all physical casco damages and scratches.

* General average; costs that carriers can recover from the cargo owners are also covered.

The law of general average is a principle of maritime law whereby all stakeholders in a sea venture proportionally share any losses resulting from a voluntary sacrifice of part of the ship or cargo to save the whole in an emergency. 

 

Full conditions as per all risk conditions Article 8 of the Antwerp Marine Policy Cargo dd. 20/04/2004

and taking the following into account:

  • -  Rust, oxidation en discoloration excluded.

  • -  Excluding mechanical, electrical and /or electronical disturbances, unless accidental or external

    signs of damage.

  • -  Replacement Clause

  • -  Insured value clause : the insured value shall represent 110% of the new catalogue value plus

    transport costs.

  • -  Painting clause : Underwriters shall pay the costs of painting of the damaged parts only. If complete

    painting of the car is deemed necessary, the original colour being unobtainable, Underwriters’

    intervention shall be limited to maximum 50% of the costs claimed for this purpose

  • -  Theft of non fixed accessories excluded

  • -  No cover whilst being driven under own power except on or off vessels/containers

  • -  Free of existing damage

  • -  Excess: 1% of the total insured value of the vehicle with a minimum of 125 EUR per vehicle

  • - Theft of loaded goods are not insured.
